Beware of several bogus "Byrds" musical acts out there. Remember that the Byrds you knew and love ARE NOT together anymore. There are 3 surviving "founding members" (Roger, Chris & Dave), but each have their own thing going. Blame Crosby for it all!! Crosby made McGuinn promise not to use the "Byrds" name without him after 1974 and Roger has honored that...even though Roger's contribution to the Byrds dwarfs that of Crosby! Face it, YOUNGER THAN YESTERDAY is a great album because of Roger, Chris and Clarence White and they wisely left most of Crosby's songs off of it. So we have Crosby making a claim to the Byrds name, but he won't bother doing anything with Roger because he makes too much money and publicity when he performs with Nash, Young & Stills. Roger should tell Crosby to "stick it" and put a real BYRDS together with Roger in the Captain's chair.

Hey there Byrds fans! The first truly wonderous all-Byrds-all-the-time is finally flying in LA...and our website is up, and gigs are pouring in.

Hi- Andrew Gold here. Me and Jeff Foskett, and 3 other friends have put together an all Byrds tribute band dedicated to the Byrds first 5 albums, and the original line up. This is officially sanctioned by the 3 remaining founding members of the Byrds, David Crosby, Roger McGuinn, and Chris Hillman, with promises to sit in occasionally. We will be playing mainly in Los Angeles, but may tour a bit around the country, and maybe the world! (Japan has already called! Love that place.)

We are appearing at the club THE MINT, on Pico blvd in LA, OCTOBER 1st, and 15th, at 10:00 pm. 2 sets, 27 songs all from the first 5 albums. PLEASE SHOW UP, seats will be hard to get I'm sure. Only 10 bucks and you'll be transported Eight Miles High, You'll Turn Turn Turn to the authentic sounds of Tambourine Man, Jingle Jangle Mornings, Green Suede Capes and Rick 12 strings. ALSO visit http://www.byrdsofafeather.com for more on us. I trust everything will turn out alright! Andrew Gold

im a little disturbed at what ive just read on this messege board,i wasnt gonna write but things need to be claified.i cant answer all your questions but ican try to answer a few.yes, jim 'roger' mcguinn still performs heavily today.he has several solo albums out and are masterpieces, mostofthe byrds albums are being re-released and are dang sure worth buying, mcguinn can be reached on the web, but do him a favor and dont bother him with silly questions, for instance'is this really you?he does answer emails, sometimes it may take awhile. but have faith in the man,he is busy!,you can email me with questions,at danilejhns@aol.com

the byrds were at their best with gram parsons. sweetheart of the rodeo is without a doubt the best album they ever released. it started country rock for christs sake, so any of you byrds fans who think it was a poor album because it wasnt exactly what the byrds were known to do, you need to get your priorites straightened out. And maybe even ask yourself if you really even know what good songs are. Ricky Sowan

Even though your long gone as a band, your music will live in me forever. My #1 theme song is Turn, Turn, Turn. I will play that song during my retirement ceremony (next year), after 27 years of Naval Service. That is how much I love that song and it's meaning. Thanks for all the songs you all have written and sang as a group.

Hello to the band! Enjoyed the show in St Charles, MO last weekend. Wanted to send some hometown greetings to Scott. It's been a long time since your early performances in the variety shows in high school, but glad to see (and hear) that you are doing so well. Really enjoyed the acoustic tune you wrote and played in the middle of the your show. Is it available on CD? (Mijobroughton@aol.com)

I'm interested in learning about the life and tragic death of Clarence White. The one time I saw The Byrds was in 1970 -71 at the University of Illinois. Clarence was the guitar player who played so well that night. I have always thought he was one of the very best. Please respond.

Thanks.

i really dig your music. since this is the 20th anniversary of john lennon death, he always thought that the byrds were the american equivalent of the beatles. the song she said she said is very simalar to your style. i also heard that roger used a 12 string rickenbacker like harrison used in a hard days night. incidentally, a hard days night is being rereleased in la and nyc this week. hope you enjoy this message and hope to see you at the movies.

Hi, everybody! I'm a brasilian guitar player and composer and the Byrds is one of my favorites rock'n'roll band. Me and my friend learned lots about american r'n'r singers. I'm thirsty to buy an 12-string reickenbaker and blow-up my amp. The arranges of the voices of the Byrds make remember something about sky and clouds between the sun. My favorite Byrd's song is Fith Dimension. Peace for the worl! MAUMAU

Hello, My name is John Gadd, and I attend 8th grade at Chagrin Falls Middle School in Ohio. I am doing a project for my English class about the Vietnam War Era music, and I was wondering if there was anyway that I could ask you guys any questions about how you felt about the Vietnam War, how you think your music that you wrote during the war could have influenced the minds of people during the time, and a few other questions. If you could e-mail me back letting me know if indeed you can answer these questions, that would be great. I could make a list of them if you email me back, then I could give you the questions. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, and if you could answer these and other questions, it would be a huge boost in the outcome of my project. Thank you, and I hope to hear back soon! My E-mail is jgadd5626@aol.com.
